Proposed amendment to the rules that regulate admission to the California bar would clarify the process for investigation of violations of the examination rule or policy, the deadlines by which certain actions need to be completed and to allow for more flexibility in the determination of a policy in the event a rules or policy violation occurs.

Proposed amendments to the California Rules of Court would permit permanent disbarment under certain conditions, require a disbarred or resigned attorney to wait seven years before applying for reinstatement and would require applicants for reinstatement to take and pass the attorneys’ bar exam.
