Chick, Gailey confirmed to three-year terms

California Inspector General Laura Chick and Los Angeles private investigator William Gailey were confirmed by the state Senate last month to three-year terms as public members of the State Bar Board of Governors. Both were reappointed by Gov. Schwarzenegger.

Chick joined the board in 2006, Gailey in 2007.

Chick currently serves as chair of the board’s audit committee. Gailey is vice chair of its discipline oversight committee. Both sit on the legal services, pro bono and equal access committee.

A former Los Angeles controller, Chick was appointed in April by the governor to oversee the disbursement of federal stimulus money in California.

Gailey is a former Los Angeles Police Department detective and now chairs Gailey Associates Inc., a private investigation firm with offices in Orange County and Los Angeles.
