Los Angeles lawyer Howard Miller took the oath of office as State Bar president last month from Chief Justice Ronald George. Miller said he will work in the coming year to enhance the importance of legal services as a core value of the legal profession.
He pledged to enlist California lawyers to offer pro bono help to victims of loan modification fraud, adding that he hopes to “change the culture” so pro bono becomes part of every attorney’s practice.
