Legal services providers to receive $10.3 million

California's legal services providers will receive trust fund grants totaling $10.3 million in 1997-98, up 12 percent from the current year's grant distribution.

The distribution falls far short of the $22.7 million distributed in 1992, but is nearly double the grant money allocated in 1994-95.

The trust fund's revenue has increased primarily because of interest rates paid by some large banks, decreased service charges, and increases on basic checking account interest rates at some banks.
