The week of March 16-22 has been designated "Mediation Week" by the state Assembly, in support of alternate dispute resolution programs throughout California. Co-sponsored by the State Bar Board of Governors, the resolution commends programs which reduce time, cost and the stress of resolving legal disputes.
Since 1991, the State Bar has worked with local bar groups hosting seminars, training and community forums and other outreach activities during Mediation Week.
