Four full days - at one affordable fee - of continuing legal education courses will highlight the State Bar's Annual Meeting in Long Beach, scheduled for Sept. 30 - Oct. 3.

More than 160 MCLE programs, earning participants more than 20 hours of credit, will be offered.

A new State Bar president and five new members of the board of governors will take office at the annual event, which will be held at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.

Featured speakers this year include Robert F. Kennedy Jr., chief prosecuting attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper and senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, and Michael Asimov, a professor at the UCLA School of Law.

The California Women Lawyers will hold its annual dinner, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.

In addition, local bar associations will hold receptions, law school alumni will meet, and the annual bar dinner dance will be held aboard the Queen Mary.

The Conference of Delegates will meet from Oct. 1-3.

Also at the meeting, the new bar president (see page 1) will be sworn in, along with new members of the board of governors (see pages 20-21).

Advance registration, before Aug. 31, is $245; from Sept. 1 - 9 and on-site, registration will cost $325. Registration information is available by calling 415/538-2210.
