Fujie takes over as bar president

Holly J. Fujie was sworn in as the State Bar’s 84th president, vowing to devote her term to improving the lot of women and minority lawyers. In her inaugural address, she described herself as a ‘Northern California-born, Southern California-practicing, Methodist minority woman partner in a majority law firm with a Catholic Caucasian husband in a small firm and two half-Asian kids, raised in a black neighborhood and living in a white one.’ The full address can be found at the board of governors page at calbar.ca.gov.
