Bar monitors lawyer loan modification advertising
With no sign of the foreclosure crisis abating, the State Bar last month began notifying lawyers that the chief trial counsel’s office wants to monitor their loan modification-related advertising.

A former State Bar employee was arrested last month and charged with embezzling more than $675,000 from the bar to pay for “spa treatments, designer clothes, lavish meals and fancy hotel rooms.”
