We have now entered the era of the Anthony Kennedy Court. The recently completed
Supreme Court term shows that Justice Kennedy is clearly the swing vote and
likely will determine the outcome of most high profile cases so long as these
remain the nine justices on the high court.

Come November, a man described by colleagues as the institutional memory of
the State Bar Court will be stepping down.
Five elected to bar board
Five attorneys, including San Diego District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, were
elected to three-year terms on the State Bar’s Board of Governors.
Service
for transfer of estate documents
The State Bar offers a Transfer of Estate Documents (TED) service to members
that allows the transfer of original estate planning documents under certain
circumstances.
In
recognition of 50 years
Philip M. Jelley, 74, of Oakland, received a certificate from State Bar President
James Heiting marking 50 years as an attorney.
