Wesley resigns as bar court hearing judge

David Wesley

State Bar Court hearing judge David Wesley resigned from the court May 15. Wesley, 49, accepted an appointment as a Los Angeles Superior Court commissioner and will be assigned initially to a family law court in the San Fernando Valley.

Appointed to the nine-member court in 1993, Wesley has been one of the most productive judges and has taken a leading role in furthering the court's technology plan. He also helped establish an extensive list of psychologists and psychiatrists for the court's use in proceedings involving an attorney's mental infirmity and other proceedings. In addition, Wesley worked with others in the court on a comprehensive revision of the stipulation forms.

Scott Drexel, chief court administrator, described Wesley as "an indispensable member of the hearing department in Los Angeles. His enthusiasm and friendliness will be sorely missed."
