State Bar] that the bar's minimum continuing legal education program is unconstitutional. At its meeting last month, the Board of Governors agreed to petition the state Supreme Court for review of the decision. Malpractice insurance to get more scrutiny By KATHLEEN O. BEITIKS Staff Writer The issue of legal malpractice insurance deserves more scrutiny, says the State Bar Board of Governors, but proposed legislation to eliminate a physician liability cap for certain medical malpractice claims deserves support. At its March meeting in San Francisco, after it heard testimony regarding the complexity of the matter, board members decided to delegate the task of examining malpractice insurance for attorneys to several committees.
