Bar's minority conference in L.A. June 20-21

Antonia Hernandez, president and general counsel of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MAL-DEF), will be the key-note speaker at the Minority Attorneys' Conference, June 20-21, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Los Angeles.

Hernandez will be part of the annual conference which offers MCLE-approved workshops for participants. This year's theme is "The New Millenium: Achieving Success in All Facets of Your Legal Career in the 21st Century."

MALDEF is a national litigation and advocacy organization that uses the law, community education and research to protect the civil rights of the nation's 24 million Latinos.

Hernandez was elected president of MALDEF in 1985 and directs its litigation and advocacy programs as well as managing a $5 million budget and 75-member staff.
