Bar's Charles wins national board seat

Anne Charles, State Bar communications director, has been elected to the National Association of Bar Executives board.

Charles, who joined the State Bar in 1985, took her delegate-at-large seat on NABE's Executive Committee during the American Bar Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco last month.

NABE is comprised of 650 executives from bar associations throughout the country. Charles, a member of NABE's Communications & Public Relations Section, is the first communications professional to be elected to the executive committee.

Over the years, Charles has been active in NABE as a producer and presenter of various programs and workshops and also served as a program committee member of the National Council of Bar Presidents.

Before joining the State Bar, she was affilliated with the California State Cost Control Commission, the Northern California Mediation Center and the Family Law Center. She also ran as a candidate for the 9th District seat in the California Assembly.
