Justice William M. Wunderlich of the Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate
District (San Jose) is the new president of the California Judges Association. He is the
first appellate justice to head the organization in 14 years.
The 51-year-old Wunderlich plans to focus in the coming year on judges' salaries, court
unification and a bigger voice in Sacramento.
"There is substantial re-education needed to remind the other two branches of
government that the judiciary is a third branch of government and that we demand to be
dealt with with deference," he said.
Other CJA officers are Superior Court Judges Roberta McPeters of San Bernardino County
and Tal-madge R. Jones of Sacramento County as vice presidents, and Los Angeles Municipal
Court Judge Stephen A. Marcus as secretary-treasurer. |
