Westlaw information available via 2-way pager
West Group, Motorola and Idea Technologies Corp. have announced an agreement to deliver
West Group's online content to legal professionals by two-way pagers.
The service, called PocketPara-legal, will be available via Page-Writer 2000 wireless
pagers developed by Motorola.
PocketParalegal will allow attorneys with Westlaw accounts to use FAXPrint technology
to deliver cases, statutes and other Westlaw content to their pagers or a fax machine
whenever they need it.
It also will be valuable in these situations:
If an unfamiliar case or statute is raised during
a negotiation away from a library, it can be delivered in just minutes.
If a legal professional is in court and needs the
phone number of another attorney, it can be requested and received through the pager.
If a relevant opinion is delivered, or other
information becomes available during a trial, it can be faxed quickly or e-mailed directly
to the courtroom.
The Idea Technologies Corp. (ITCOR) develops value-added software for the Motorola
PageWriter 2000 two-way pager, focusing on the information needs of legal professionals.
ITCOR's new application, PocketParalegal, is an innovative legal research tool.
