New board members

Five new members of the State Bar Board of Governors began three-year terms last month.

The new board members are Robert Keith Persons of Chico, Erica Robin Yew of San Jose, Anthony Patrick Capozzi of Fresno, Nancy Hoffmeier Zamora of Los Angeles and Judith May Copeland of San Diego. Peter D. Nitschke of Orange began a one-year term as the young lawyer representative to the board.

New officers of the California Young Lawyers Association (CYLA) are: James C. Sherwood of Fresno, president; Joseph T. Hahn of Los Angeles, 1st vice president; and Demetrius D. Shelton of Oakland, 3rd vice president. The positions of 2nd vice president, secretary and treasurer are vacant.

Also beginning three-year terms on the CYLA board are Michael L. Bury of Chico, Mark P. Millen of Los Gatos, Theodore P. Byrne of Los Angeles and Craig M. Nicholas of San Diego. The District 5 seat, representing 14 central California counties, remains unfilled.
