JNE procedures

Issue: Proposed revisions to the Rules and Procedures of the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation. Amends the JNE rules to provide that, upon request of the governor, the JNE Commission will, within 10 days of sending an opinion of not qualified to the governor regarding a particular candidate, notify the candidate in writing of the rating and the right to request review.

Rules of Procedure

Issue: Proposed amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the State Bar. The following rules, approved for public comment prior to the 1998 shutdown of the bar, are being re-released. They are 101(b)(4), Notice of Disciplinary Charges; 133, Stipulations as to Facts, Conclusions of Law and Disposition; 134, Stipulations as to Disposition; 270, Public and Private Reprovals; 300, Petitions for Interlocutory Review and for Review of Specified Matters; 308, Summary Review Program; 320, Exercise of Powers Delegated by Supreme Court; 321, Motions for Relief under Rule 951; and 600(b), Nature: Initial Pleading.

Rules of Practice

Issue: Proposed amendments to rule 1302 of the Rules of Practice of the State Bar. Prior to the 1998 layoff and during the State Bar shutdown, various rules were approved for public comment. Rule 1302 (withdrawal of request for review) is being rereleased to provide sufficient opportunity for public comment.
