Standards for Sanctions
Four proposed amendments to the Standards for Attorney Sanctions for
Professional Misconduct of the State Bar. The issues are offenses involving entrusted
funds or property, unconscionable fees, business transactions with a client and compliance

Pro Hac Vice rule
Proposed amendments would replace rule 983 with an enabling rule of
court and detailed program rules and regulations. This regulatory scheme eliminates the
need for the Supreme Court to act whenever a minor amendment to the Pro Hac Vice program
is necessary.

responses (102), response to notice of disciplinary charges (103), disqualification of
judges (106), vacating default (203), motion for reconsideration (224), grounds for
dismissal (262), representation by counsel (404), effective date (405), review (406) and
inapplicable rules (407). The last three amendments change the rule number only. The full
